It is without a doubt one of the most important light fixtures in the house. It brightens family dinners and friendly gatherings, illuminates homework time, and accompanies our morning coffee. Here are some tips to help you find the perfect pendant light!
- The Right Shape
Create a harmonious set by choosing complementary shapes. For example, with a round table, a spherical or cylindrical pendant light is preferred to accentuate the table's curved lines. To match a rectangular table, use a double pendant light or a group of single pendant lights to balance the table's length and distribute light evenly.
- Ideal Dimensions
It is important that the dimensions of the pendant light are proportional to those of your table. Measure the diameter if it is round or its width if it is rectangular. The ideal light fixture should be 2/3 of this measurement. And make sure to center it properly during installation!
- A Unique Style
Mixing styles is trendy. It is entirely possible, for example, to combine a very classic chandelier with a Scandinavian-style table. It's all a matter of taste and the style you want to give the room. Another decorative option is to combine several pendant lights aligned or arranged in a group: a graphic look and perfectly diffused, harmonious lighting.
- The Right Height
The ideal distance between your table and the light fixture (bottom edge) is 70 to 80 centimeters. If the lamp is too high, it glares; if it is too low, it blocks the view of the person opposite.
- Perfect Lighting
Halogen bulbs offer powerful, white, and cool light, while incandescent bulbs provide softer, warmer light. Since brighter light is needed for children's homework than for dinners with friends – dimmers are a very interesting option. Note, however, that compact fluorescent bulbs are not compatible with this type of device.
