Low ceilings? No problem!

Rooms with low ceilings often feel oppressive. But fear not, several lighting solutions and luminous tricks can turn the tide!
  • The first rule to follow: lighting must be directed upwards to visually push the ceiling away. The more the ceiling is lit, the further away it will appear. The second? Avoid pendant lights hanging from the ceiling as much as possible!
  • Wall sconces with indirect lighting that diffuse light upwards are perfect.
  • Consider ceiling lights. This type of fixture is particularly well-suited for rooms with low ceilings because it doesn't obstruct the space.
  • Light sources with a wide beam angle (more than 90 degrees) are valuable allies.
  • Track lighting is also an effective solution for providing good light distribution without encroaching on available height.
  • Opt for lamps and floor lamps. Their height is suitable for low spaces. However, choose models that allow the light flow to escape upwards.
  • Think about clever lighting! Install track spotlights vertically and direct them in multiple directions. Place hidden light sources, such as fixtures behind tall furniture or attached to a bookcase.
  • In the kitchen, you can stick LED strips on top of your cabinets. You need a distance of 30-40 cm from the ceiling. Install them as far forward as possible without making them visible.
